At CursorMania, we talk a lot about being jokers and pranksters. There’s always some sort of hijinks going on around our office and we’re never sure what’s going to happen next. Remember the mooning cursor we showed you? As soon as we’d remove it from our screen, someone would come and put it back on! We think everyone in the office got pranked on that one and it was awesome! So we’re letting you in on the newest prank before it even goes around the Cursormania office. What is it? The banana split! Banana peels are the things that comedy jokes were built on. You can find it in cartoons, comic strips or even video games (Donkey Kong anyone?). Plus, some of the funniest jokes out there  have bananas as the subject. We’ve picked our favorites to share below:

Q: Why did the banana go to the hospital?
A: He wasn’t peeling well.

Q: Why are bananas never lonely?
A: Because they hang around in bunches.

Q: What would one call two banana skins ?
A: A pair of slippers.

Aren’t they the greatest?! Okay, maybe they’re a little bit cheesy but they sure do have us grinning a lot. If you’d like to make your day a little better, or give your friend a reason to smile, turn your boring cursor into our CursorMania Banana Split cursor and you’ll be laughing so hard your sides will split (get it?!). Download it now or visit CursorMania to see our thousands of free cursors.

Everyone’s heard the phrase, “what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas,” right? Well we’re about to break the one rule for vacationing in Sin City and let you in on the CursorMania Info trip to Las Vegas, Nevada. What started out as a fun trip turned out to be a loss for some employees who decided to try the classic casino game of roulette. Did you know the name roulette comes from the French phrase for “little wheel?” The game started in France in the 18th century as a game combining aspects of the English games Roly-Poly, Reiner, Ace of Hearts and E.O. and the Italian board games Hoca and Biribi. In short, roulette players choose to place bets on whether the ball will fall into either a single number, a range of numbers, the colors red or black and whether the number is odd or even. In the French and European version of the game, there are 37 spots on which to place bets; In the American version there are 38.

Video game fanatics are anxiously counting down until tonight at midnight when Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will be released. MW3 is the third installment in the Call of Duty series and is a direct sequel to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, which was released in 2009. For those who can’t wait until tomorrow to purchase the game, many retailers will be staying open late to accommodate those who wish to buy the video game at midnight — We’re pretty sure there will be some CursorMania diehard video gamers in line and think they’ll be very tired in the office tomorrow morning!

Analysts are predicting that Call of Duty: MW3 will be the year’s top video game title and is already on pace (due to the number of preorders) to outsell last year’s Call of Duty: Black Ops, which sold 25 million units and currently holds the title of top-selling video game ever. To commemorate this event, CursorMania has created a special edition cursor bedecked in green and brown camouflage for all those who will be playing Call of Duty in their spare time in the coming weeks. Download it today (it’s free!) and get your computer ready for Modern Warfare 3.

Did everyone have a happy Halloween last night? At the CursorMania office we’re gorging ourselves on leftover candy and wishing that we didn’t have to un-decorate our offices. This morning, while the office gathered around the coffee maker, we discussed some of our favorite outfits from last night. Princesses and kitten costumes were favored among the girls while the guys around the office were impressed by the trick-or-treaters dressed in full football gear or those who legitimately gave us a scare. Costumes aside, did any of our readers experience any creepy or ghostly Halloween happenings? We’re not sure if the holiday has on or edge or more weird things tend to happen on October 31, but nearly everyone reported that they had been spooked sometime over the weekend or yesterday. For example, one person found a bat in her house that had mysteriously gotten in when no windows or doors were left open. Did anything scary happen to you?

For one thing, we’re not ready for the holiday to be over. Maybe we’ll start planning for next year’s costumes this afternoon! As we say goodbye to our favorite fall celebration, we thought we’d share one last Halloween cursor with  you, a flying bat in honor of our CursorMania friend who had one in her house. Until next year, we say so long to All Hallow’s Eve!
