At CursorMania, we talk a lot about being jokers and pranksters. There’s always some sort of hijinks going on around our office and we’re never sure what’s going to happen next. A lot of folks around the CursorMania offices are geeks, which isn’t all that surprising. We spend all day every day on our computers creating the latest and greatest in cursors for your home computer. Since we’re so use to being online all the time, many CursorMania employees turn to online video games as their way to relax after a tough day at the office. When asked what their favorite video games are, the responses around the office varied by quite a lot: Grand Theft Auto, Resident Evil, Tony Hawk, Madden, Final Fantasy, World of Warcraft and more. The overwhelmingly most popular response was Halo. If you’re not familiar with the series of games, Halo is about an ongoing battle between humans and a group of aliens known as the Covenant. Over time, the whole series has sold over 40 million copies of the game! Needless to say, it’s a pretty huge cultural phenomenon within the gaming community and players are extremely loyal to the Halo series. So loyal in facts that some of the people in the CursorMania office created a target cursor to download on their work computers. One guy who had it says that it reminds him to work hard and get everything accomplished each day so he can play Halo at night. He sounds pretty dedicated, don’t you think?

Hypnotism is crazy, if you ever really think about it. There was a hypnotist at a party this past weekend hosted by one of our esteemed CursorMania co-workers and we couldn’t believe what we were seeing. How is it possible?! CursorMania employees were hypnotized onstage and were barking like dogs, clucking like chicken and doing headstands while they were under the hypnotist’s power. We know they would have never done under normal circumstances. Once we left the party, we started doing some research on hypnotism to learn more about it. Did you know that aspects of hypnotism date back hundreds of years? And beyond entertainment purposes, hypnotism has been used as a form of therapy, helping patients overcome additions, lose weight and even stop smoking!

Sometimes at CursorMania, we have trouble breaking away from creating cursors to do the boring work.
